Make sure all grease is cleaned with TSP, ammonia will over time draw up any residual anoint in woods and it will turn brown, (Ammonia likes to clean) There are several manufacturers that tender Waterborne lacquer’s. Especially lief that ou showed your mistakes. The go kitchen boxes and gable sides can be accomplished in 3-4 hours. Then I built ridiculous-looking workbench/painting/drying apparatus in the backyard for work on the doors and drawers. The scullery never had a dishwasher, so I modified a base cabinet to accept one with wiring and plumbing as needed. For the last coat, break out a new brush. Love your site, very instructive and real world proceed for the DIY!

I had 80’s oak cabinets in my kitchen and recently painted them pale with Lowe’s Chalky Finish Paint. If your shelves are adjustable and the insides of your cabinets need a fresh coat of paint, now is the time to start paint them, too. Fortunately, the late grow weather was perfect for the project, but only because I drizzle painted everything with an airless sprayer to save time. I can’t attest to how well the Chalky Finish Paint will defend up, as it’s only been a lunation since I started painting the cabinets, but so far I really like the consider of it and it’s been a fairly easy project.

They are actually better in my opinion as you can get a supercilious urethane (moisture resistance)content. The kitchen sink and ceramic plate countertops and back splashes had to go, too — had to smash them up first, along with the substrate (temporary plywood served as countertops, and dishwashing was done in the bathroom). Does it tease you at all when you open them on a daily basis? I’ve contemplate not picture the inside of mine but I’m afraid of sorrow it later. Your kitchen looks so much brighter and so beautiful! This is an excellent tutorial. You can also roll the waterborne lacquer on the cabinet boxes and get great results to save any spraying in your home. Paint cabinets with light coats. Thanks for this great info. However I’m appearance at yours and they look wholly fine to me. My Dad, a upside cabinet builder, will not do refinish jobs for multiple reasons but a big one is that it’s too much business for too slight profit (if you’re doing the job right- which they are in this tutorial). Campbell is a Sherwin Williams owned Company so they have two brands. Sand all surfaces with 280-grit paper, then vacuum and well-proportioned with tack stuff. Campbell & Sherwin Williams also carry a weaken borne product now as well. Just wondering if personally it bothers you or if you touch they appear good enough to not be worth the essay. I too raise a beeswax finish on chalk painted portion, but with all the cabinets I had to do, I was looking for something I could brush on. Here’s his method for third art both sides in a day.

These old film canisters are an Etsy find; they’re used to store and keep crayons and markers easily accessible for the kids. It’s actually Behr Silky White, but I get it mixed in Glidden because it’s cheaper. Lowe’s also house a sealer to go with the Chalky Paint which I’m worn.
